1 Peter: Readings and the Thoughts that followed
1 Peter 2:15 ~ "For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people."
1 Peter 3:15 ~ "but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,"
1 Peter 3:18 ~ "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit"
- Do good. By being different from the rest of society you are setting yourself apart, and because you're doing good (or godly) things people will have a hard time criticizing you and your faith. 1/19/18
1 Peter 3:15 ~ "but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,"
- There is only one way to do this truly and effectively and that is to read God's Word.
- And for somebody to ask us for a reason, we need to live His Word. 1/18/18
1 Peter 3:18 ~ "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit"
- And He can do the same for us, killing our lives of sin, but giving us life in spirit. 2/11/18
